Volunteers Needed For Puppet Shows

If you have a few hours a month to spare, the Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island is looking for you. Won't you help us dispel some of the myths and misconceptions that still surround epilepsy? Help us make the world a better place for people with epilepsy who are often discriminated against for no reason.

Volunteers are needed to perform a puppet show in area elementary schools. We use the" Kids on the Block" puppets, a troupe of life-size able and disabled puppets. If you have one hour a week for four to six weeks for training and can commit to one performance a month, we will train you in the art of Bunraku, or Japanese Puppetry. This is an opportunity to have fun working with children while promoting an atmosphere of kindness and tolerance in our community.
